2025 City of Quitman Stormwater Improvements Plan

“The Plan to End Repetitive, Localized, Stormwater Flooding in the City of Quitman”

At no cost to Quitman taxpayers, the City-Wide Hydrology Study and the West Donald Street Stormwater Improvement Project, the first of sixteen proposed projects in the 2025 Stormwater Improvements Plan, are now complete!  This marks the city’s initial steps toward addressing long-standing stormwater flood mitigation and infrastructure resilience goals.  The City of Quitman’s 2025 Stormwater Improvements Plan, a 409-page report written in conjunction with the City-Wide Hydrology Study, outlines a methodical, systematic approach to addressing stormwater flooding based on the scientific analysis of Quitman’s drainage basins and existing stormwater infrastructure.  A City-Wide Hydrology Study is highly recognized as the gold standard in securing the critical data needed to qualify for future grants and funding opportunities in support of the remaining Stormwater Improvement Projects.  Full implementation of the 2025 Stormwater Improvements Plan will bring to an end the repetitive, localized, stormwater flooding that has plagued the City of Quitman for decades.
